Red FoxBig Fish Ball

The fourth annual Big Fish Ball on June 24, 2009, at the Merchandise Mart’s Riverside Drive was a spectacular success!

The summer evening festivities included stylish outdoor dining, live Chicago River animals, and much more. An inspiring headline performance by ALYO Children’s Dance Theatre and after-party boat cruise were among the highlights. Our backdrop was the spectacular city skyline and Wolf Point, where the North Branch, Main Stem, and South Branch of the Chicago River converge. Some of Chicago’s most prominent and diverse leaders in the civic and corporate communities were among the over 350 guests who attended the event.

Despite the challenging economy, Friends of the Chicago raised even more money this year than in 2008. It was a terrific party, too!

Very special thanks to our Big Fish Ball sponsors, gala committee, honorary committee, board of directors, staff, and volunteers who contributed to making the gala such a success.
