LIABILITY WAIVERS
Every volunteer must sign a liability waiver. At most sites, this means either the Friends adult or minor waivers. Some sites may also need to have a MWRD adult or waiver signed. A few other sites may have even more than that! Below are the Friends and MWRD waivers. Additional waivers (Evanston, CTA…) will be posted once the language is confirmed.
SAFETY
As always, each site box will have first aid supplies for any incidental accidents that occur like scrapes and bruises. BEFORE YOU BEGIN ON THE 8th: Please gather your participants together before you begin the clean-up and instruct them on the safety precautions which are printed on the safety sheet you received in your pre-event packet, inside your supply box and listed above. Please make sure to emphasize that this is supposed to be a workday but that we do not want anyone falling into the water or endangering themselves.
TRASH
We have make plans for trash pick-up at all sites. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL ALL BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY. City of Chicago sites will be collected Monday morning or Sunday if the ward supervisor thinks there is too much garbage sitting. All of the appropriate people/organizations have been contacted about the garbage collection.
SUPPLY RETURN
We need all of the gloves and banners back! You may keep any extra t-shirts or sponsor giveaways.
It is critical that unused supplies are returned so that we can save on expenses for next year. PLEASE RETURN ANY BANNERS! We will be numbering them so we can use them in the future as they are quite costly to replace. Please do not hold onto them, so we can maintain inventory. The best place to return the supplies is at the Site Captain Picnic at Fletcher. We will have volunteers who will collect and help sort out the materials that are being returned. If you are unable to make it to the picnic, please contact the office to make other arrangements.
