View Event »Get out and have fun while really making a difference in the ecological health of the preserves and ultimately the Chicago River system. Volunteer activities range from removing invasive vegetation to collecting native seeds, wildlife monitoring projects, brush pile burns, and more.
View Event »Beaubien Woods is located along the Calumet River on the south border of Chicago. At the time of settlement it was best described as a mosaic of sand prairie, marsh, and savanna. Activities there revolve around removal of non-native brush.
View Event »Join the North Branch Restoration Project with the Centennial Volunteers to restore this oak woodland to its former beauty! This 76-acre site is new to restoration and will depend on the community of volunteers to remove invasive species, spread native seed, and much more. Large pin oaks are a unique feature of this preserve, which is also home to some beautiful spring ephemerals.
