Friends of the Chicago River’s 28th Annual Student Congress is a free student-led environmental conference highlighting student learning and leaders in the Chicago-Calumet River system. At this unique forum held at Northeastern Illinois University, youth come together to share their knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm about science, nature, and climate resiliency. Students present and attend informative workshops and displays created by their peers from all over the watershed and by professionals from colleges, non-profits and government agencies. All students in the Chicago-area are welcome, and it is especially geared towards those of middle school and high school ages. The Student Congress if part of Friends' Chicago River Schools Network.
