Friends invites you to enjoy the beauty and wildlife of the North Shore Channel. Over the last five years Friends has been improving habitat, water quality and the overall resiliency of the river by planting native plants along the river banks. These plants provide food and habitat for river animals and help stabilize riverbanks by mitigating the detrimental impacts of soil erosion. These plants have truly taken hold and we’d love to show you in person. There are two sessions, one from 12 - 1:30 p.m. and a second from 1:30 - 3 p.m. All are welcome. Space is limited, so registration is required.

No paddling experience necessary. Friends’ trusty canoe guides will help everyone safely load in and out of the canoes, answer questions about the river along the way and act as safety monitors on the water. We provide all equipment, paddling instruction, and a safety talk. We recommend paddlers are at least 10 years old and minors paddle with a guardian. Younger river lovers from 5-10 years old are invited to enjoy the event with their family by sitting in the center of the canoe. All participants need to sign a paddling waiver which will be sent to you in the confirmation email, and blank waivers will also be available on location. Trips start and end from the same location, rain or shine!
