Can a shallow, muddy river edge be a powerful place for change to take root? From early partnerships with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, growing an exciting volunteer planting program with Shedd Aquarium, to increasing the scope of our vision to include the entire Chicago-Calumet River system, learn how Friends is using the natural power of plants to grow habitat for wildlife, stabilize river shorelines, and increase river and community resilience against the impacts of climate change. Join us this Earth Day to learn more about this river shallows project with Friends' Kristine Lorenzo, conservation projects manager, and Becky Lyons, director of equity and engagement.
Registration is required. The Zoom invitation link will be sent via email one week ahead of the event.
