Friends Welcomes New Team Members
Friends welcomes Tessa Murray and Maggie Walker to our team.
As our Watershed Policy Manager, Tessa helps lead the work of the Policy and Planning teams in advancing the goals of the Greater Chicago Watershed Alliance as well as Friends’ water quality and land use goals to support equity, biodiversity, and improvements to public health across the watershed. With a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from McGill University, Tessa is also a certified public health entomologist and previously served as the sustainability coordinator for the Village of Northbrook.
As our Events Coordinator of the of the Education and Outreach team, Maggie engages people in caring for the Chicago-Calumet River system through cleanup and restoration events across the region; galvanizing volunteers, participants, partners, and sponsors to celebrate and connect with Friends and the river system. Maggie holds bachelor’s degrees in environmental policy and political science from Loyola University of Chicago. Prior to joining Friends, Maggie was a conservation action facilitator at the Shedd Aquarium and a program instructor at the Evanston Ecology Center.
