Welcome to the Board Corey Bossard

Friends of the Chicago River is pleased to welcome Corey Bossard, Senior Director – Business Controller at S&C Electric Company, to Friends' Board of Directors. At S&C Electric, Corey has historical corporate controller experience, and, for the past few years, oversees business partnerships for the company’s commercial, product development, and production operations including providing key strategic financial insights, maximizing profitability, leading planning activities, and mitigating cost risks. S&C Electric is a Chicago-based manufacturer of industrial products used for the electric grid.

Corey and his wife live near the North Branch of the Chicago River where they frequently visit and walk along the river-edge trail near the historic Lathrop Homes, as well as Clark Park and Horner Park in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago.

“I am extremely excited to join and collaborate with Friends of the Chicago River,” said Bossard. “I’m eager to learn more about Friends’ work and to leverage my historical experiences to contribute to the mission to restore protect and restore the Chicago-Calumet River system. I also look forward to contributing to the board’s finance committee.”

A Certified Public Account, Corey received his MBA from the University of Chicago, and a B.S. from the University of Kansas. Corey has also served as the board treasurer at Cathedral Counseling Center, a non-profit mental health counseling organization that helps a low-income clientele.
