Shallows Project StoryMap Now Live

Native Lizard's tail planted in the North Shore Channel by Friends of the Chicago River.

To grow awareness and solicit feedback of our vital River Shallows Project, Friends of the Chicago River has designed a StoryMap, which is a visually rich web-based resource highlighting this effort to combat climate change using native plants in the river's shallows – where the land and water meet – to build resilience and offset environmental impacts.

River Shallows StoryMap

The StoryMap integrates photos, maps, visualizations, and text to describe how natural solutions address the challenges faced by our rivers, communities, and wildlife.

Visit our River Shallows Project webpage to explore this dynamic StoryMap and learn more about this important plant-powered initiative.
