Don’t Miss the Final Two Happy Hour Speaker Series Events of the Season
There are just two opportunities left this season to experience the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum's 20th anniversary Happy Hour Speaker Series. The free events, held from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on the Bridgehouse Museum's Riverwalk Plaza, will feature engaging presentations and activities celebrating the history, ecology, and future of the Chicago-Calumet River system while guests enjoy refreshments along the riverfront.
On Thursday, August 20, visitors can put their knowledge to the test during Chicago-Calumet River Trivia, a fun and interactive evening celebrating the people, places, wildlife, and history that make the river system unique. Participants will answer questions about the Chicago-Calumet River while learning more about its remarkable transformation and ongoing renaissance.
The Speaker Series will conclude on Thursday, September 3, with Canal as Commons: The Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal as a Shared Place, presented by Friends of the Chicago River's Adam Flickinger and Amy Heldman. The discussion will explore the canal's evolving role as a shared community resource and examine opportunities to reimagine the corridor as a place that supports people, nature, recreation, and climate resilience.
