What do the MWRD Candidates Think?

As the agency responsible for stormwater management and sewage treatment in Cook County, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) has a massive role to play in protecting people and the environment from the effects of climate change impacts in our region. While voting, it is crucial to make an informed decision regarding who should be responsible for leading the charge towards a more resilient region.

While Friends does not and cannot endorse candidates, we can ask questions on the issues and share the answers. For the 2024 general election, Friends of the Chicago River solicited positions from the candidates running to fill three spots as MWRD Commissioners with six-year terms and one spot for a two-year term.
