River Action Days provide companies with ways to give back to the community by participating in customized river-edge volunteer experiences for their employees to improve the health of the river system, and build trust and camaraderie.

The Big Fish Ball is one of our most special fundraising events of the year – bringing together a festive community of Friends’ supporters, partners, and civic leaders in celebration of our work to protect and restore the Chicago-Calumet River system.

Dam removal is one of the most important investments in aquatic life heath and is a priority for Friends of the Chicago River.

A highlight of the Member & Volunteer Celebration is the presentation of annual River Commitment Awards for exceptional efforts on behalf of Friends’ mission and vision.
