Air, Water, Food, and Energy are the focus of Climate Innovation Summit

Margaret Frisbie speaks at the The Water We Need panel of the climate innovation summit.

At Chicago Innovation’s climate innovation summit this month, Friends’ Executive Director Margaret Frisbie joined top environmental research and policy experts for an in-depth panel discussion entitled The Water We Weed.

The first-ever Climate Innovation Summit, held June 13 at the School of the Art Institute, brought together hundreds of environmental leaders to celebrate remarkable achievements in sustainability and ignite inspiration in the fight across the climate change spectrum. Expert panels focused on air, water, food, and energy.

Frisbie’s co-panelists were Howard Learner from the Environmental Law & Policy Center, Michael Reardon, of Triwater Holdings, LLC, Karine Rougé, of Veolia North America, and Dr. Melissa Youngquist, of the Shedd Aquarium.

In November, the Chicago Innovation Awards recognized Friends of the Chicago River and the Trust for Public Land as Climate Champions for our leadership in creating the innovative Natural Solutions Tool.
