Do you know anyone who is a big fan of indie pop star Maggie Rogers? Be sure to tell them of a chance to win free tickets to the Grammy-nominated artists’ upcoming Chicago concert by leading a River Spirit Team at our at our Race for the River 5K and Family Festival on September 21.

The acclaimed musician known for top hits like “Alaska” and “On + Off” will perform October 24 at the United Center, and Courtesy of 101.9 THE MIX Chicago, our highest fundraising River Spirit Team will win the free tickets to be there too. A River Spirit Team leads with heightened enthusiasm and runs, walks, or rolls the 5K race or the event’s guided nature walk.

Open to all ages and abilities, the festive 5K run/walk/roll is a unique opportunity to explore the North Shore Channel trail and recent river-edge improvements that expand the health and climate resiliency of the Chicago-Calumet River system and support equitable, open access for all. If you are not up for running, sign up for leisurely guided nature walks around River and Ronan Parks, paddling, and water science experiments. Immediately after, join us for an after-party festival in River Park to enjoy river-centric activities, drinks and snacks, and connect with community organizations.
