Litter Free Supply Stations

Check Out Supplies Here!

Litter is an important issue for our communities, rivers, and oceans. It will take all of us working together to create a Litter Free Chicago-Calumet River system that is clean and safe for all people, wildlife, and communities who depend upon it.

Friends' Litter Free Supply Stations act as a community resource to borrow cleanup supplies and provide information on how to plan and host a self-led litter cleanup. Any person or group is welcome to check out supplies from one of our Supply Stations. The Litter Free Supply Station webpage contains navigation instructions for users, a calendar to show active reservations, and a list of the host organizations with locations, hours, and their individual submission forms.

Supply stations contain all the tools, supplies, and information you need to run your own cleanup. Each kit contains between 10 to 15 litter grabbers, 5 buckets, plenty of bags and gloves, along with a Litter Free Toolkit (or see our Litter Free Toolkit in Spanish) that provides guidance on safety, planning, and executing a litter cleanup.

After your cleanup, add it to our Litter Free Map and take our Litter Free Survey to help us track our collective impact.

Is your organization interested in hosting a supply station? Reach out to Maggie Walker at mwalker@chicagoriver.org or (312) 939-0490, ext. 29 if you would like to bring a supply station to your area.
